Senator Tunde Ogbeha, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called for the sacking of all officials of the party’s National Working Committee.

Ogbeha, who is the Director-General of the Wada/Awoniyi Campaign Organisation in the upcoming Governorship election in Kogi State, made this known in an interview with Tribune Newspaper in the state capital Lokoja.

The two-time senator said he expected a more organised set of people to take the helms of the party at the national level.

He said: “What happened in the last election is that we had that [Muhammadu] Buhari momentum that swept everywhere.

“Two, the PDP campaign at the federal level was not well organised; it was disorganised and the party assisted the opposition in its campaign mobilisation.

“We went into the election and the results are now history.

“But to get the party organised, certain things have to be done.

“The present National Working Committee [NWC] should be disposed of.

“We should have a mini election to choose more competent and more honest people who are committed to the cause of the party.

“Fresh party mobilisation should commence.

“If we don’t do away with the present NWC, it will be difficult to revamp the party.”
