The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has congratulated journalist and sociopolitical commentator, Dr Chidi Amuta, on his 70th birthday.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, July 24.
In the message he personally signed, Obi said, “It is with pride that I, on behalf of my family, most sincerely wish my very dear elder brother, an imperator of the Nigerian journalistic landscape, and one of Nigeria’s best media executives a happy 70th birthday.
“Dr Chidi Amuta is an extraordinary scholar, journalist, social crusader, and patriot whose interests and consistent interventions in the Nigerian public space span a very wide spectrum.
“He has brought his cerebral ideas to bear on almost everything that conduces to national development.
“As he turns seventy, I join his numerous ardent readers, friends, well-wishers, and professional colleagues in wishing him many more blissful years of committed engagements with responsible journalism and the best interests of the Nigerian state and people.”
