Paul Pogba was a few years ago the most expensive player in the world and with this status came a lot of expectation.

While one can’t say that Pogba’s time at United has been a failure, neither can one assert that it has been as successful as initially envisaged.

Amongst his biggest critics is former United player, Paul Scholes.

The former England international h=was especially critical of the United captain following their loss to Brighton. Speaking after the game, he said: “There’s a lack of leaders in the team, that’s why we thought Paul Pogba might be the ideal candidate to be that leader but he wasn’t there,

“He had another really poor game. He’s so inconsistent.”

Mina Raiola angered by these statements, hit back at Scholes, saying that the former player was only speaking because of fear of becoming insignificant.

“Some people need to talk for fear of being forgotten,” he said on Twitter. “Paul Scholes wouldn’t recognize a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill.

“Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club.”

The midfielder has scored from the spot twice in the last 2 games and would be hoping he can lead his team to victory when they come up against Tottenham Hotspur next.
