Nigerians should start praising the Nigeria Police Force for exposing the bad eggs in its fold.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said this in a Monday tweet.
According to him, the police are the only public organisation taking the bold step of naming and shaming its errant personnel.
He said this the same day that PC Liyomo Okoi was dismissed from the force for indiscipline, after he was seen in a viral video flogging one man with a cutlass in Cross River State.

“When will anyone give kudos to @PoliceNG for being about the only organization in the country doing self cleansing and publicizing same? No other does name-and-shame.
“Kindly commend our empirical sincerity. And please, do not mistake this for self adulation. We forge ahead!” Hundeyin wrote.
However, police reforms advocate, Rinu Oduala faulted Hundeyin’s stance.
“Why should anyone give kudos to an organization whose officers are mostly criminals, harassing, killing and extorting Nigerians rather than protecting?” she asked.
