A Twitter user, @St_Hiffy has accused the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) of the Police in Osun of extorting him of $504 (approximately N292,000).

He made the claim in a series of tweets on Saturday.

The complainant, who tagged several Twitter handles, including that of the acting police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, begged Nigerians to help him recover the stolen funds.

He explained that the funds were part of his school fees in Cyprus, from where he returned to Nigeria in February.

According to him, the FIB officers accosted him, his brother and father along Osogbo road and collected their personal effects, including phones and vehicle particulars.

He noted that while going through his phone, the policemen saw the Binance app, a cryptocurrency trading platform, on it.

The aggrieved Nigerian said the policemen saw $800 worth of USDT, a digital currency, on the app.

He said that the USDT was meant to be transferred to his friend in Cyprus who would then convert it to euros and help him pay off his school fees.

He noted that the policemen threatened to kill him and the other members of his family and proceeded to drive them aimlessly around for two hours before transferring the USDT to their own account.
