Policeman slips into coma after Bauchi gov’s convoy accident

A policeman attached to the convoy of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, was on Monday rushed to hospital after losing consciousness in an accident involving the convoy.

The policeman, who has not been named, was said to be in a Toyota Hilux van conveying 10 members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) attached to the convoy when the vehicle somersaulted twice.

The vehicle reportedly somersaulted due to poor visibility caused by dust on the road which is under construction.

The road crash occurred in Tafawa Balewa local government axis, where the Bauchi governor visited as part of an inspection tour of projects awarded by his administration across the state.

The vehicle was said to have been rescued by other vehicles in the convoy, but while the other nine RRS personnel in the affected vehicle escaped, the victim lost unconscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital in Bununu, the headquarters of Tafawa Balewa local government area.
