Pope Francis Intervenes In Iran, US War Situation

Pope Francis, leader of the Catholic church has stepped into the Iran and US war situations. The Pope urged the duo to embrace peace and dialogue, not war.  He said that both countries should desist from fueling war and conflicts in the Middle East.

Al-Jazeera who reported the statement made by the Pope in a yearly speech known as the “State of the World” addressed to ambassadors and diplomats from more than 150 states, said:

“Particularly troubling are the signals coming from the entire region following the heightening of tensions between Iran and the United States,”

“compromising the gradual process of rebuilding in Iraq, as well as setting the groundwork for a vaster conflict that all of us would want to avert”.

Recall that the Herald reported that President Donald Trump has backed down from the looming war between the US and Iran. In a broadcast on Wednesday evening, Trump said that the US is ready to embrace peace “with all those who seek peace”.

He further debunked the claim by Iran that 80 US soldiers were killed in the missile attacks on US base in Iran, stating that no Soldiers were armed.

According to him, the soldiers evacuated the base before the missiles dropped.
