Embattled actor, Jussie Smollett will not feature in the last two episodes of this season’s Empire series. This is due to his recent involvement in a false report case. The actor was arrested and charged with the offense of staging his own attack, felony and disorderly conduct.

The producers were forced to make the announcement after the arrest as he was only set free after posting bond.

The statement which was undersigned by producers: Lee Daniels, Danny Strong, Brett Mahoney, Brian Grazer, Sanaa Hamri, Francie Calfo, and Dennis Hammer, reads thus.

“The events of the past few weeks have been incredibly emotional for all of us. Jussie has been an important member of the Empire family for the past five years and we care about him deeply. While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of `Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season’.”

The Empire series is on its mid-season break but it is set to return to tv screens on 13th of March. Since the last two episodes are still in the production stage, Jussie will not feature in them.
