An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Abayomi Shogunle, sparked reactions on Thursday night after he gave some stringent conditions that must be met before he can unblock anyone he blocked on Twitter.
Shogunle, who is the Head of the Police Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), gave the conditions via his verified Twitter handle.
He described the process as an “amnesty” and said it would only be valid until August 31, 2018.
Shogunle said, “Granting amnesty to blocked @Twitter handles.
“Tweet – I promise to be of good conduct on @YomiShogunle’s TL, I will not repeat the kind of Tweet that earned me a block.

The Herald can report that one of those blocked by Shogunle is former Director General of the Bureau for Public Sector Reforms, Dr Joe Abah.
Like Shogunle, Abah is also a very popular Twitter influencer.
