Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has left the German team for ‘private reasons’ and will not play against Peru

The winger was left out of the World cup squad with some whispers suggesting that his attitude was less than pleasing to boss, Joachim Low.

There were similar whispers at Manchester City with Sane who was an ever-present in Manchester City’s march to the title last season, seeing very little game time this season

It did seem like he was on the road to redemption as he was called up to the Germany squad for the UEFA Nations League and even came on as a late substitute when he replaced Marco Reus in the 83rd minute of Germany’s game against France.

He was reported to have obtained permission from Low to leave the team,

“Sane has left the team hotel in Munich after consultation with national coach Joachim Low on Friday for private reasons,” the DFB’s Twitter account wrote on Friday.

While there had been talk that he was dropped by Pep Guardiola over his attitude, the Manchester City manager did say that he was beginning to see the winger getting back to his best;  “In the past two weeks in training, I’ve seen the Leroy that I know and we know,” Guardiola told the press ahead of their draw against Wolves “I am delighted about that.

“You know about his performances in pre-season, he arrived late and now he is getting back like Leroy is.”
