Senate Adjourns Plenary For Saraki’s CCT Trial

1 Min Read

The Senate has adjourned plenary till Thursday, October 20 and reconvene on Thursday, October 22, instead of the earlier date of Wednesday.

This was made known to journalists by the Acting Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Oyewo

Though the Acting Clerk proffered no reason as to why the Senate will be adjourning further, feelers suggest it may not be unconnected to the expected appearance of the Senate President before the Code of Conduct Tribunal which has fixed today for the continuation of his trial.

Recall that the CCT has fixed today for the continuation of the trial of the Senate President charged with sundry offences, including false asset declaration among others.

Today’s shutting down of the senate may not be unconnected with the expected appearance of the lawmakers who will troop to the tribunal in show of solidarity to Saraki.
