Seyi Tinubu Locks Instagram Comments As Netizens Protest His Father’s Govt

President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi, has been forced to lock the comment section of his Instagram page after Nigerians heavily descended on him for asking them to endure amid rising hunger and poverty in the country.

The younger Tinubu’s call for endurance followed protests in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, where angry youths took to the streets to decry the rising cost of living.

Many Nigerians have lamented the Tinubu administration’s economic policies that have caused instability in the value of the naira, resulting in soaring food prices.

But Seyi took to his Instagram page with over 800,000 followers to ask Nigerians to endure, rehashing his father’s words from a national broadcast to mark the 63rd Independence Day anniversary in October 2023.

The president had said, “There is no joy in seeing the people of this nation shoulder burdens that should have been shed years ago. I wish today’s difficulties did not exist. But we must endure if we are to reach the good side of our future.”

Seyi declared that he stands with his father and argued that the present generation “will yield the fruits of this hardship.”

However, a barrage of criticism from Nigerians followed the First Son’s post, causing him to limit who could comment on his Instagram posts.
