Slain soldiers: Tinubu meets Delta gov in Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State at the State House, Abuja, days after no fewer than 16 officers and soldiers were slain in Okuama community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

The Delta governor addressed reporters shortly after holding a private meeting with the president.

He disclosed that the situation is under control while efforts are being made to apprehend the perpetrators.

Oborevwori assured that there will be no further attacks.

The governor disclosed that he met the security chiefs in Bomadi on Monday but has not been able to hold a meeting with the community involved because all the residents have gone into hiding.

Recall that the Defence Headquarters disclosed on Saturday, March 16, that a lieutenant colonel, two majors, one captain and 12 soldiers were killed in Okuama on Thursday, March 14.

The DHQ said the slain military personnel belonged to the 181 Amphibious Battalion, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.

The presidency condemned the attack on the soldiers and called for a thorough investigation.
