The South-south zonal chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hillard Eta has described out-going Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio as an inconsistent person who shouldn’t be advising President-elect, Mohammadu Buhari on how to run his administration.

Recently, Akpabio urged the President-Elect to support the Eight National Assembly to reduce the powers of the federal government and allocate more power to the state government.

In the statement signed by Eta’s press secretary, Bassey Ita, the zonal vice-chairman said: “ Akpabio should mind his business and forget about giving Buhari overnight advice and pouring of unwarranted praises in an attempt to either cover up for his many sins in Akwa Ibom.

“Akpabio has been known for his disguised inconsistency in his human relations. At a point he was quoted by a local tabloid in his state as having secretly donated to the Buhari campaigns while wining and dining with Jonathan.

“He has not denied it in his usual venomous vituperations to his opponents. But he went on to call Buhari unprintable names when the PDP women campaign train berthed Akwa Ibom state on March 15, 2015. In his display of myopia, he described our president-elect as suffering amnesia; with a 50-year-old ideas which are not relevant in today’s governance and today Akpabio is praising the same Buhari for being the only man that can support the eighth National Assembly to allow the states enormous powers to perform optimally.

“This clearly depicts inconsistency on the side of a man who is either not sure of what he wants in the corridors of power or is on a mission to thwart an effort towards change.

“For us as a people-centred party, we urge the president-elect is to ignore such advice which is one of the many venomous tendencies that will hover around him while in office; it can only be realised after it has struck its unsuspecting victim.

“We are however glad that Nigerians did not toe the path of Akpabio during that March 15 women rally to deny APC and Buhari their massive support. It means that they preferred that 50-year-old idea of Buhari provided they are freed from the stranglehold of poverty and strife occasioned by wholesale corruption of the PDP junta for which Akpabio.”
