Swansea City manager Garry Monk has expressed his happiness with his side as they recorded a league double over Manchester United for the first time in the club’s history.

The Swans backed up their efforts from the opening day of the season as they came from behind to beat the Red Devils at the Liberty Stadium thanks to goals from Ki Sung-yueng and Bafetimbi Gomis.

Monk told BBC Sport: “I don’t know if today is better than the win at Old Trafford – it’s quite even. It was a great result, what a fantastic day. The team has done tremendously well against a side like Manchester United.

“To take six points off Manchester United for the first time in the club’s history is a great achievement. To make history for this club is fantastic for this team to be remembered and it is no mean feat.”
