Police in Benue State has apprehended one Terna Taga, an 18-year-old man, who allegedly defiled and impregnated a 10-year-old girl.
Herald Nigeria learnt that the victim was raped at an Internally Displaced Persons’ camp in the state.
The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed on Wednesday that Taga was arrested at the North Bank area on Tuesday.

“The command will decide on the next line of action after full interrogation and investigation into the case,” Anene said.
A blogger, Chigozie Effe, had solicited help from well-meaning Nigerians regarding the girl’s delivery, after she was dumped at the General Hospital, Makurdi.
She was later transferred to the Foundation Memorial Hospital, Makurdi, where she was delivered of a baby girl through Caesarean section on Monday.
