President Bola Tinubu has appointed five new Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and a Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy.
The appointment was announced through a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Wednesday.
The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu appoints new leadership across the communications, innovation, and digital economy sectors’, unveiled the newly appointed CEOs and a Special Adviser.
The new CEOs include Aminu Maida, who will serve as the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission; Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, appointed as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited; Dr. Vincent Olatunji, named National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; and Tola Odeyemi, who will take up the role of Postmaster General at the Nigerian Postal Service.
Kashifu Abdullahi, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has been reappointed for a second term in office, signifying the administration’s confidence in his leadership.
In addition to these appointments, Idris Alubankudi has been chosen as the Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy.
His appointment is strategically aimed at leveraging Nigeria’s established technological and digital economic expertise to steer the nation’s economy toward greater financial inclusion, as articulated by Ngelale in the statement.
