Chief John Oyegun, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has lamented that the overbearing influence by a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the battle for the party’s ticket in the governorship election in Ondo state might cause the Party’s loss in the state.

This is coming following series of allegations by aspirants and in-fighting amongst them.

Oyegun said this while speaking at a peace meeting with all the APC aspirants in the Ondo gubernatorial race on Saturday.

“If there is no unity then you are the one who is losing the election, it won’t be that the other party won it, you decided to donate the election to the opponent and God forbid that that should be the situation in this case, ” he said.

“We want you to advise us on the things you think we need to do to ensure that each and everyone of you will be happy with the process and will be sure in your heart that there will be free and fair primary.

“Let us exchange ideas and let us have suggestions from you as in what we need to do that we are not doing, as to what is creating a kind of disention leading to secretariat been locked and the rest of it, and ensure that the week that is left to the primary that we have a relatively rancur free campaign and that at the end of the day on the 27th you will all be reasonably satisfied that the process has been as clean and free,” he added.
