To avoid being exposed, murder suspect commits suicide in Benue -

Kalu Adasu, a middle-aged man from Tse Agabaragba, headquarters of the Konsisha Local Government Area of Benue State, has committed suicide.

The deceased, who was married and had children, was found hanging from a tree on Tuesday.

Although he left no suicide note on why he chose to kill himself, sources close to the family revealed that he has been accused of killing one Master Terseer Adasu.

Terseer reportedly died in Makurdi early this month and he was to be buried next week Monday.

According to the source, “The matter became dicey when the family held a meeting and insisted that they would consult a soothsayer today (Tuesday) to identify the person responsible for the young man’s death.

“Perhaps, out of fear of being exposed, the deceased might have decided to commit suicide.”

The spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, also confirmed the incident.
