FC Barcelona is eyeing a deal for Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena in the subsequent transfer windows.
The Herald understands that Barcelona is on the lookout for young talents and Baena is certainly a rising figure in the European circuit.
Baena burst onto the scene last season scoring 12 goals and notching six assists in 48 games for the Yellow Submarines.
He is said to possess excellent vision, a good passing ability, and a blazing shot as well.
According to Mundo Deportivo, he recently signed a long-term deal with Villarreal that ties him to the club till 2028. His release clause is €60 million.
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is reportedly keen on the 22 year old . Pedro’s constant injuries are also a factor in the transfer of Baena.
Baena has tallied up one goal and two assists in four Laliga matches this season.
The Yellow Submarines have three points from four league games this season and they are in 15th position.
Barcelona are third on the league table with 10 points after the first four games.
