Trump knocks congressman Ted Lieu for attacking fellow lawmaker, Candace Owens over Hitler comments

US President Donald Trump  has berated Democratic congressman Ted Lieu for  suggesting that firebrand Trump supporter Candace Owens is a Nazi sympathizer.

‘I think that’s a terrible thing that he would do that,’ Trump said of the congressman when departing for Texas from the White House Wednesday.

‘I find her to be a very – I know her – I think she’s a fine person, a fine young woman. And I think that’s disgraceful that they would do that.’

Trump added that he is yet to see the interaction, which occurred at a public House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday focusing on hate crime and white nationalism.

President Trump is know as an ardent supporter of Owens. In May 2018, the president tweeted that she ‘is having a big impact on politics in our country,’ and said her dialogue is ‘so good for our country!’
