Following the killing of 50 people at a gay bar in Orlando a few days ago, several reactions have been aired as concerning the gruesome act.
The most recent and more controversial of such reactions is that of a pastor who described the shooting as a good act while praising the shooter for helping to rid the world of pedophiles.
The pastor, Roger Jimenez of the Verity Baptist Church in Sacramento said during his sermon: “Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?”
He continued: “Um — no — I think that’s great! I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida is a little safer tonight.”
He added: “If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out.”
Jimenez had in earlier sermons called for the institutionalization of death penalty for gay people.
