Vote Credibility, Not Religion, Ethnicity – Atiku Admonishes Nigerians

Former Vice President and All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to vote for a credible Nigerian who has the capacity, vision and the charisma and not use religious and tribal sentiments as criteria.

He warned that anything short of this would take the nation several years backwards and further under-developed the country.

The former vice president made the call while addressing party supporters in continuation of his campaign tour in the South East geopolitical zone of the country.

Atiku who dismissed the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan as trick and a scam fashioned to deceive the masses, noted with delight that it is only APC controlled states, Imo inclusive that real transformation is taking place.

He recalled with relish his historical relationship with the South East, especially with the people of Imo State and assured that his aspiration to rule this country visa-vis that of Rochas Okorocha of Imo State who is equally in the same race would not generate bad blood between him and the governor.

“Governor Okorocha is my brother who is also aspiring along with me to rule this country next year, therefore any vote for me is a vote for Okorocha and any vote for Okorocha is also a vote for me,” he said.

He, therefore assured that the APC believes in all democratic processes and therefore will not adopt presidential candidate for the forthcoming presidential election.

The former vice president who announced a donation of N5 million to APC in the state, N1 million to the Elders’ Council and another N50, 000 each for all party delegates in the state, gave an assurance that an APC controlled Federal Government would ensure the implementation and sustenance of a qualitative free education, infrastructural development and health care delivery services for the masses.

He enjoined the people of the state to vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking, the state chairman of APC, Dr. Hilary Ekeh recalled the enviable relationship between the former vice president and Governor Okorocha and gave an assurance that the people of the state had since embrace the APC in appreciation of the dividend of democracy being provided by Okorocha.
