A lady, Miss Uchechi Okere has set her lover, Mr. Darlington Nkwocha’s car ablaze while he was inside it for allegedly refusing to marry her after wasting her time.
The incident occurred in Nguru autonomous community in Ngor Okpala council of Imo State.
However, Nkwocha escaped being burnt to death after the vice president of the community’s youth association reportedly pulled him out from the vehicle.
The lovers were said to have been in a long-term relationship known to many people in the community.
It was learnt that Nkwocha, a businessman who also operates executive taxi services, kept the relationship with Okere even though he was married to another woman.
Witnesses said that Okere pleaded with her lover that they should end the relationship since it was obvious that it would not lead to marriage.
Nkwocha’s friends were said to have advised the lady that rather than quit the relationship, she should convince him to take her as his second wife if he truly loved her as he claimed.
But when she broached the matter to her lover, he refused with the excuse that he did not want to upset his wife.
His response reportedly infuriated his lover who set his car on fire as he prepared to zoom off.
