A social critic, Daniel Regha has advised Grammy Award-winning musician, Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid to get himself a music mentor.

Regha tweeted this to his 700,000 followers on Friday morning while reacting to Wizkid’s performance on DJ Tunez’s new single, “Blessings” ft Gimba.

Citing Wizkid’s verses on the single, the critic said the Essence crooner has a great voice but poor songwriting skills.

“Wizkid needs a music mentor, he’s got the voice but n¤t the songwriting skills.

“His verses on DJ Tunez’s “Blessings” ft Gimba is proof enough. His first verse was off-beat, poor syncopation, & he’s literally recycl!ng lyrics.

“The instrumental was really dope though. No offense,” Regha said.

Regha is a frequent critic of Wizkid’s artistry.

In November 2022, he described Wizkid’s More Love, Less Ego album as “overhyped”, drawing criticism from the artiste’s fans.

“Wizkid’s “More Love, Less Ego” album is ¤verhyped; He’s recycl!ng lyrics with different beats. Also, songs off the album are centered on material!sm but the album title suggests humility (so n¤ correlati¤n). As an artiste, Wizkid is n¤t evolving, & his pen game is m!d. No shades,” he tweeted.
