A 32-year-old housewife, Hadiza Abdullahi on Thursday dragged her co-wife, Jummai Audu to court, accusing her of disrespecting her marriage.
The complainant, who resides in Parakwai village of Igabi Local Government, told the Magajin Gari Sharia Court II in Kaduna, that her 45-year-old co-wife had been calling her a mistress and abusing her parents.
“She calls me a mistress who is living with our husband illegally, and that my children will never inherit their father.
“The annoying part is when she involves my parents in the quarrel, calling my mother all sorts of names,”, she told the court.
The complainant explained that she decided to seek for the court’s intervention as all efforts by their husband to resolve the issue was unsuccessful.
When her plea was taken, Audu, the co-wife, pleaded not guilty, saying the claims of the complainant were untrue.
The Judge, Malam Musa Sa’ad after listening to both parties, ordered the complainant to present her witnesses on Oct. 24, when hearing in the case would continue.(NAN)
