World Cup: Croatia Advance To Quarterfinals As Denmark Crash Out

Croatia have defeated Denmark to reach the quarterfinals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Mathias Jorgenson put Denmark ahead in the first minute of the game before Mario Mandzukic equalised for Croatia three minutes later.

Luka Modric had the chance to secure victory in the 16th minute of extra time but had a penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

The clash then went into penalties, with Christian Eriksen missing the first kick for Denmark.

However, Eriksen did not have to feel bad for too long as Croatia’s Milan Badelj also saw his kick saved by Schmeichel.

Andrej Kramaric and Modric scored the two following penalties for Croatia as Simon Kjaer and Michael Krohn-Dehli slotted home theirs for Denmark.

Lasse Schoene missed his kicked for Denmark and Josip Pivaric also missed his for Croatia.

However, while Nicolai Joergensen missed the last kick for Denmark, Ivan Rakitic converted his penalty kick to send Croatia through.
