Yahaya Bello fumes as bandits kill 13 family members in Kogi

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has vowed to bring to justice those behind the killing of 13 members of a family and one other person in Agudu, Kogi/Kotonkarfe Local Government Area of the state.

He disclosed this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed.

The killings which occurred on Wednesday were confirmed by the state Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba.

Ayuba disclosed that the bandits that “wiped out” the victims had escaped before police got to the village.

“A man and 12 family members were killed. His son is the only survivor. Another person was killed, while those injured have been taken to the hospital,” he said.

In his reaction, Bello vowed to bring the culprits to justice, noting that no criminal would escape the consequences of their dastardly acts.

The governor promised to sustain the ongoing operations against criminal elements in the state, stressing that his government is determined to frustrate and defeat criminals no matter how far they run or hide.

Also, Bello condoled with the family of the victims and the entire Agbudu community and assured them of his government commitment to their security and wellbeing.
