EFCC Docks Metuh Over Alleged Destruction Of Evidence

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will arraign the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja for charges bordering on destruction of evidence.

It would be recalled that ‎Metuh allegedly tore and attempted to chew his written statement while he was being investigated for the money laundering case by the anti-graft commission.

Metuh, who has been in EFCC custody and Kuje prison, is yet to perfect his N400million bail condition slammed on him by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Prison authorities have produced Metuh before Justice Ishaq Bello for the arraignment to take place.

It would be recalled that Justice Abang, in a ruling on 19 January ordered that Metuh produce two sureties of N200 million each, who must must own property in Maitama, Abuja and be resident in Abuja.

The judge ruled that the sureties must produce the certificates of occupancy of the property which must be verified by the Chief Registrar of the court and confirmed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The sureties must also provide their three years tax clearnce certificate, two passport photographs and swear to affidavit of means.
