2023 presidency: Anti-zoning propaganists “enemy” of Nigeria – Southern, Middle Belt leaders

1 Min Read

The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF) says anyone against zoning of the 2023 presidency to the South is an “enemy” of Nigeria.

The forum equally reiterated its earlier stance that no political party that presents a northern candidate for the election will enjoy the group’s support.

SMBLF, comprising Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Middle Belt Forum and Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), stated these in a statement released on Thursday.

The statement was signed by South South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark as the Chairman of the groups and leader of PANDEF; Chief Ayo Adebanjo for Afenifere as the leader; Professor George Obiozor for Ohanaeze Ndigbo as the President- General and Dr. Pogu Bitrus for Middle Belt Forum as the National President.

According to the group, the “anti-zoning propagandists” are unpatriotic and parochial, and do not only hate the country but are also barefacedly fanning the embers of dissent and disunity, capable of exacerbating crisis in the country.
