Three kidnappers were killed in an inferno by an angry mob on Wednesday morning at Gas Line Bus Stop, near Sango Ota, very close to Covenant University.
Okada motorcyclists trailed the kidnappers vehicle after they heard screams from the victims trapped inside. The kidnappers initially managed to escape after killing one of their victims until the okada men caught up to them.
The mob refused to hand the kidnappers to police and instead beat them and doused them with petrol, setting them ablaze.
An eyewitness said, “the okada people saw them at Sango but the kidnappers drove away.”
“The people caught up with them at this place and after they rescued the victims and spoke with them, they set the kidnappers on fire.”
The slain suspects were said to have killed one of their victims, whose remains were carefully packed in a polythene bag.
