3 ships laden with petrol waiting to discharge in Lagos ports

Three out of six ships waiting to berth in Lagos ports will discharge Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Tuesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the document noted that the remaining three ships will berth with kerosene, bulk fertiliser and bulk gas.

Thirty eight ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos from July 26 to Aug. 13.

NPA explained that the expected ships contained buck wheat, Bulk sugar, containers, base oil, bulk salt, steel products, aviation fuel, soya bean, diesel, empty containers and petrol.

NAN reports that 16 ships are at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, fertiliser, bulk charcoal, empty container, containers and petrol.
