Seat of Wisdom Secondary School’s Principal, identified as Mr Modestus Eze has been accused of the grave offence of rape.
The Principal was said to raped a male student to the point of coma.
According to the Daily Tribune, the dastardly act happened on Sunday and Police were alerted of the incident after which they stormed the principal’s house, but he had fled.
The Principal was said to have fled the scene after people in the area suspected him and called the police on him.
The PPRO of the Anambra State police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident saying:
“The scene of the crime was visited by Police detectives attached to Okija Division and upon search, some charms and Juju deities spread with a red substance suspected to be fresh blood were also discovered in some isolated rooms within the school premises.
“The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical examination,” Mohammed said.
The Tribune also reports that youth in the community on hearing of the incident, gathered around the Principal’s house threatening to burn it down.
If not for the intervention of the Police, the youth would have had their way and burned the house down.
SP Mohammed promised that the police would step up their efforts to bring the criminal to book.
