The police in Katsina State have apprehended one Abubakar Lado, 25, of Badole Quarter in the Dandume Local Government Area of the state for allegedly raping his eight-year-old niece.
The incident occurred at Yamborikowo Quarter also in the Dandume Local Government Area of the state.
Lado, who has been charged to court for forcefully having sexual intercourse with a minor contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code, was remanded in the Katsina Prison the Senior Magistrates’ Court presided over by Hajiya Fadile Dikko.

According to the police, Lado was arrested after a resident of Yamborikowo Quarter, Abdullahi Ibrahim, reported the incident at the Dandume Police Division.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, had asked the court for another day, citing that investigation into the matter was still in progress.
The case was subsequently adjourned till May 29, 2019, for further mention.
