Boko Haram insurgents had intended to detonate another bomb at the Emab Plaza, sequel to the one that went off on Wednesday killing 24 people.

Coordinator of the National Information Centre (NIC), Mr Mike Omeri, disclosed in Abuja that it was the timely intervention of the security agents that stopped the second bomb from exploding.

Omeri said that claims that Closed Circuit Television Cameras installed in the FCT were not functioning are false.

Omeri informed newsmen that the FCT minister, Bala Mohammed, had disclosed that the cameras are indeed operational and that more installations would follow soon to complement the existing ones.

He said capable citizens are advised to install cameras in order to beef up security.
