Vice President Namadi Sambo has admonished politicians against using violence to achieve political power emphasising that the PDP administration under President Goodluck Jonathan reflects an ideal democracy in which every interest is represented, particularly the North.
The vice president gave the warning at the weekend in Kaura Namoda town of Zamfara State during the presentation of take-off materials to the graduands of Senator Sahabi Ya’u Youth Vocational Skills Acquisition Initiative.
He alleged that some politicians are taking advantage of the current insurgency to cause more crisis along religious, ethnic and regional divides, noting that the trend is very dangerous for the corporate survival of the country.
He stated that the Muslim North has occupied a fair share of the nation’s ministerial positions particularly of principal organs like Defence, Police, Finance, Foreign Affairs and many others.
Sambo advised voters across the country to resist any misleading political gimmick to ensure that Nigeria remains a united country through the good and progressive administration of President Jonathan.
The youth empowerment take-off materials distributed to the graduates of the skills acquisition programme initiated by Senator Sahabi Ya’u include sewing and grinding machines, irrigation pumps, electronics and aluminium pottery-making materials.
