Gov. Akeredolu splashes N100,000 on South African returnees

The Executive Governor of Ondo state, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has donated N100,000 cash gifts to each of the South Africa returnees who hail from Ondo state.

Governor Akeredolu who was duly represented by his Deputy, Agboola Ajayi welcomed the Returnees in his office and gave them the cash gifts to help them settle down in the state.

The Governor also made promises to support the returnees by creating an enabling environment for their new lives in Ondo state.

Agboola described the xenophobic attacks in South Africa as barbaric, unwarranted and totally condemnable.

While speaking, the Deputy Governor Agboola lauded President Buhari for condemning the attacks on African Nationals during his recent visit to South Africa.

Agboola speaking on behalf of Governor Akeredolu, urged the Returnees to prepare for the new lives and not feel discouraged by the ill-treatment they suffered in the hands of South Africans.

Recall,  the South African returnees were flown in to the country via a free flight on Air Peace some weeks ago. The trips were sponsored by Geoffrey Allen Onyeama, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Peace airline.

Geoffrey Allen Onyeama has been commended by different Political office holders for his humanitarian and patriotic act.
