Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria will miss his country’s World Cup semi final clash with the Netherlands on Wednesday having been ruled out with a thigh injury against Belgium, according toFIFA’s official website.

The Argentinian camp confirmed through FIFA that the Real Madrid man would not be featuring in the game as the injury could get worse, and though it has not ruled him out of the tournament completely he will not be fit enough to face the Dutch on Wednesday night.

He suffered the injury during the first half of the clash with Belgium and had to be replaced by another Manchester United target, Enzo Perez.

The federation said in a statement on their official website that Di Maria underwent tests over the weekend which determined he would not be available to face the Dutch. His condition will continue to be evaluated day by day.

Di Maria has enjoyed a strong showing at the tournament already, scoring the late goal in extra time to defeat Switzerland in the first knockout stage.

Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella also said: “Angel has a problem in front of his right thigh and he is going to do an analysis tomorrow.”
