The Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) have congratulated Britain on their recent success in pulling out of the EU and have requested support from the British government to help initiate their own exit from Nigeria.

The call was contained in a statement titled “There must be “BIAFREXIT” in line with the just concluded BREXIT” which was signed by its spokespersons Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya Barrister Emma Nmezu.

In it they congratulated the Brits for successfully breaking away from the EU but they also warned that it would be an act of hypocrisy if David Cameron who they said initiated the Brexit continues his friendly relationship with the Nigerian Government who they accuse of murderous activities against Biafra agitators.

The statement said; “Britain as the closest ally of the Nigerian Government as a mark of exemplary leadership, must guide President Muhammadu Buhari and his colleagues to organize a BIAFREXIT akin to the recently organized BREXIT.

“The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, congratulate the Government and people of Britain for organizing the BREXIT vote and applaud the British Government for respecting the wishes of her citizens”
