The South-East Governors Forum has denied setting up regional security outfit Ebubeagu to witch-hunt the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Chairman of the forum and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi spoke at the presentation of 60 operational vehicles to members of Ebubeagu on Friday in Abakaliki.

The Herald can report that Umahi handed over 40 Siena buses and 20 Hilux vans to the operatives.

He said that the outfit was created to assist the police and other security agencies in tackling crime for a safer society for the citizenry.

The forum’s chairman advised political stakeholders to desist from inflammatory comments that could further worsen the security situation in the country.
