Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Archdiocese, His Grace Ignatius Kaigama says education has no value if the youths are denied the opportunity to hold leadership positions.

The respected cleric spoke Saturday during the 9th convocation lecture of Veritas University, Abuja, where he is the Chancellor.

Kaigama said it was high time Nigerian youths took an active part in the governance of their country.

Urging the authorities to carry the youths along in decision making, the Catholic archbishop said “it is the right time now to give our youths a chance to express their leadership skills.”

”Recent events in our country show that there is an urgent need to expand the political space and allow our youths to be more involved in decision making.

“Of what use is education which after acquiring it, you cannot have the opportunity to participate and contribute in the governance of the society?” Kaigama queried.

“Over time, we have recycled the same personnel in government in Nigeria; it is the right time now to give our youths a chance to express their leadership skills,” he further said.
