EU donates €16.5m to Eradicating Polio in Nigeria

The European Union (EU) has donated a total of €16.5 million to help in fight against Polio in the Kebbi state, northwest Nigeria.

Dr. Abubakar Koko, the Director of Kebbi state Primary Health Care Development Agency (KPHCDA) made the revelation on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi at an interactive session with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on how to sustain the prevention of polio in line with global standards.

Koko said that the agency had established community development committees that would intensify efforts in the fight against polio.

He also added that the agency would continue to sensitize people, especially those in the rural areas on the disease.
