Gervinho ‘Demanded Private Beach And Helicopter’ To Move To Al Jazira

Ivory Coast and Roma attacker Gervinho was set for a move from Italy to the United Arab Emirates, but a list of ‘obscene’ demands got in the way.

According to the Telegraph, the Ivory Coast forward was requesting a helicopter and a private beach as part of the deal to move to the Emirates.

He also apparently requested accommodation for his family, and regular air tickets to travel to Cote d’Ivoire whenever he wanted. All these demands, which the club described as ‘obscene’- led to them withdrawing from the deal.

He appeared set for a 4-year deal worth about $14.5 million.

But the move collapsed because of Gervinho’s string of demands, which also included accommodation for his family and regular airplane tickets to travel to his native Ivory Coast, said La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Reports from the Emirates suggest Gervinho’s demands alerted the club to possible future problems with the player, and they are not expected to pursue the deal any further.
