Head Of Service: Reasons Behind Kifasi’s Removal; Oyo-Ita’s Appointment

1 Min Read

It is no longer news that the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi has been ordered to proceed on terminal leave by the Presidency, but indications have emerged as to the reason behind the decision.

Reliable sources revealed that Kifasi, who is two months away from his retirement, was forced out early because of the federal character principle, having come from the same state (Taraba) as the Secretary to the Federal Government, Babachir David Lawal.

It was further revealed that Kifasi was having a running battle with many of his subordinates, including some permanent secretaries, who were uncomfortable with his leadership style and wanted him out of the way.

However, the presidency is yet to make an official statement on why it ordered the immediate removal of Kifasi from his post.

In a related development, the Presidency has appointed Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita as the new Head of Service of the Federation.

Oyo-Ita, who is the immediate past Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Technology,  replaces Danladi Kifasi who was relieved of his post on Tuesday.
