Leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, said any Igbo people who remained in the North in spite of the quit notice issued by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum were like sacrificial lambs with a possibility of being slaughtered.

Kanu made the remarks whilst being interviewed by journalists in Enugu as he was honoured by the Igbo Students Union, Igbo Women Assembly and other groups.

The IPOB leader also remarked that there was no compulsion on any Igbo living in the North to return to the East, however he said those who opted to stay in the North were doing so at their own risk.

His words: “You are aware that Scotland is seeking to leave the United Kingdom? Are you remotely implying that every person from Scotland, who lives in England, should now return to Scotland?

“Britain just left the EU. Are you now implying that every British citizen in the EU should come back to Britain in order to finalise that process of extraction of Britain from the EU?”

He said those who issued the quit notice in the North under the aegis of Arewa Youth were not on his radar as they are “inconsequential.”

“It is up to them (Igbo who choose to remain in the North). They have been in the North, and the northerners have been killing us since 1945.

“If you choose to live in the North, you choose to be a sacrificial lamb because one day, they will kill you. It is a choice they have made and they will have to live with it.”

Speaking on the upcoming Anambra poll, Kanu said the people would discountenance calls from Ohaneze not to boycott the poll as the people were 100% with IPOB.

“We control the people 100 per cent and come Anambra, on the 18th of November, 2017, the whole world will be amazed.”
