Spyro, who has been a dedicated member of Harvesters for over seven years and actively serves in two church departments, expressed his surprise at the backlash he and Pastor Bolaji received. He emphasized that the video circulating on social media captured a segment of a drama he performed at Harvesters’ annual carol service titled “Fantasia.”

The artist highlighted that the carol service was open to all attendees free of charge, dispelling any notions of commercial motives behind the event. Spyro, in his defense, asserted that being a celebrity does not exempt him from actively participating in church activities, including drama presentations.

In a plea for understanding, Spyro reminded the public that he is human, a Christian, and an active member of a real church. He emphasized the importance of recognizing his right, as well as that of other celebrities, to worship and serve God like any other member of the congregation.
