A former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani says the rumour that the judgements of the presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) are being written by someone other than the judges on the tribunal is “hard to believe”.

Sani said this in a tweet on Monday amid social media rumour that a former minister and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) loyal to the president has been tasked by the presidency to write the judgements that would be read by the judges.

A pro-Atiku group, Face Of Waziri-Nigeria (FOWN) also alleged in a statement that President Tinubu who is perturbed about the high probability of the ruling not being in his favour has commissioned six of his political allies, Ibrahim Masari his Senior Special Adviser SSA (Politics), Mr.Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Yusuf Bichi DGSS, Mr. Nyesome Wike (a Ministerial Nominee) and two other former Governors from the North to prevail on members of the PEPT to influence them to rule in his favour.

According to a statement signed by the Director-General of the group Mr. Bukky Adeniyi on Saturday, he disclosed that the six individuals were given the task of meeting the Appeal Court/Tribunal judges over the PEPT on the ruling to be handed down on the yet-to-be-fixed date, and influence the verdict to be in favour of the president.

Reacting in a Monday tweet, Sani said, “Though we live in a country of mysteries, magic, miracles and myths, it’s hard to believe that the respective Justices of the Presidential election tribunal will stoop to sacrifice their honour for someone to write the Tribunal judgment for them to read like newscasters.

“The story is either speculative or preemptive fiction.”
