#JusticeforIZU: Video Of Late Izuchukwu’s Last Moments Before Suicide Emerges
A video has emerged of the last moments of US-based Nigerian entrepreneur, Izuchukwu Madubueze, who committed suicide after he was falsely accused of rape.
Madubueze’s death sparked the Twitter hashtag #JusticeforIzu and calls for severe punishment for false rape accusers.
A snippet of the video which is currently circulating on social media shows him sitting in front of a camera in what appeared to be his living room.
He can be seen holding a white A4 paper which appears to contain a written apology to family and friends, calling the content “last words”.
At the beginning of the video, he gives the date as July 16, 2020.
He complains about how he was falsely accused and not given the opportunity to defend himself.
Madubueze says he was ostracised by even those he expected better from.
“I wasn’t ever given a fair chance to clear my name or explain my side of the story or verify if any of the allegations against me were true or not.
“I think it’s all good; it’s all right,” he says.
He went on to apologise to his parents and his younger brother as well as some friends because of what he was about to do (suicide).
He also apologises for bringing disgrace to his family.
Last words of Izu before killing himself.
•He confirms he never got a fair chance to clear his name of the allegations.
•Apologises to his “family” for bringing “disgrace”.
•Sends his best wishes to his brother and his sister.
