Labour Party contesting to win in Lagos, won’t compromise — Guber candidate

Prince Ifagbemi Awamaridi, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Lagos State in the 2023 general elections, says the party is contesting to win elections in the state.

Awamaridi, who made this remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos, said the party would not compromise the various ambitions of the party for monetary advances.

Awamaridi said: “Labour party is out to contest and win elections in the state.

“We have never compromised with anybody on elections in Lagos. Labour Party has never engaged in any act of compromise of masses’ interest. We are contesting to win elections.

“We will not use the LP to negotiate for private cash out, we are not going to compromise.

“I am contesting for the Governorship of Lagos State and I am going to win this time around.”

On the party’s strategies to win the state, Awamaridi said the party would not want to disclose its strategies.

“Our winning is going to be possible because we know what we have done.

“We have mapped out 10 popular programmes we call our frontline charges and priorities. These are not compromisable,” he added.

Awamaridi said that the party would not also compromise its resolve to return dignity of human life if voted into power by electorate in 2023.

He said that it was only the LP that could rescue the country and the state from the present challenges.

The candidate, who noted that the LP had a lot of programmes for the state which would be unveiled when the campaigns start, said the party is committed to the restructuring of the country.

Awamaridi listed some of the party’s cardinal programmes to include; free and compulsory education up to the tertiary level, health services, internet connection, potable water, electricity, employment and living wage for workers.

According to him, the programmes also include affordable and comfortable transport and distribution of wealth from the super-rich to the poor. (NAN)
