Lamorde Bows Out, Magu Takes Over As EFCC Chair

Information just filtering in states that Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been removed and replaced by Ibrahim Magu of the Economic and Governance Unit of the anti-graft body.

Lamorde, who took over from Farida Waziri, became the head of the body on November 23, 2011.

No reason has yet been given by the Presidency for Lamorde’s sack.

On the other hand, Magu, who is said to be a strict investigator, was removed along with other top officials by Waziri on assumption of office as chairman in 2008.
